Are Supervised Manufacturer Test Laboratories/Witnessed Manufacturer Test Laboratories (SMTLs/WMTLs) required to participate in proficiency testing for IES LM-79 tests?

Yes, per EPA Directive #2011-03, all EPA-recognized laboratories, including Supervised Manufacturer Test Laboratories/Witnessed Manufacturer Test Laboratories, must carry out proficiency testing through the US National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Metrology Services department if they are providing IES LM-79 test reports to certify solid-state lighting products.
