The building that I thought was my best performing building did not score well. Why not?

The energy performance rating system within Portfolio Manager has been carefully developed by industry experts using actual U.S. building data and has been thoroughly tested using industry data. Care should be taken to ensure that the building and energy consumption data have been entered correctly. Once you have confirmed that all the data has been entered accurately, you should assume the rating received is a reasonable and objective assessment of the building's performance relative to the U.S. commercial market of buildings of similar function. Recent EPA studies indicate that top energy performing buildings generally reflect a combination of good building management, energy efficient technologies, and a high-level commitment to performance by upper management/building owners.
