Is there a tax credit for furnaces and boilers?

Timing:

Must be installed in your "principal residence" between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2013.

Details:

Furnaces & Boilers: AFUE of 95 or greater

(AFUE= Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency)

Find qualified models:

There isn't a single list of all heating products that are eligible for the tax credit. AHRI lists their member’s products. Some additional products are on the ENERGY STAR lists.

Furnaces:

1) To search the AHRI List (use 2011 list)  

 -Select "Furnaces" 

-In the 2nd column, last item "Eligible for Federal Tax Credit 2011" select ‘AFUE’

-Enter the code in the box at the bottom, and hit "Search"

2) To search the ENERGY STAR list, open the Excel file below and  search for the furnaces with an AFUE of 95 or greater:

-  gas furnaces    

- oil furnaces     

Boilers:

1 ) To search the AHRI List (use 2011 list)  

-Select "Boilers" 

- At the bottom of the 1st column, select “YES” to "Eligible for Federal Tax Credit"

-Enter the code in the box at the bottom, and hit "Search"

 2) To search the ENERGY STAR list, open the Excel file below and  search for the boilers with an AFUE of 95 or greater:
